One of the greatest strengths of Circular Communities Scotland is our network. Throughout 2026, we were delighted to bring members together through three regional forums in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, creating valuable opportunities to connect, learn and share experiences with other organisations working at the heart of Scotland’s circular economy.
Our member forums are an important part of what we offer as a membership organisation. They provide a welcoming space for members to discuss common challenges, exchange ideas, discover new opportunities and strengthen relationships with peers who understand the realities of delivering circular economy projects within communities across Scotland.
Edinburgh Members Forum
Our Edinburgh forum took place at Four Square’s Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, where members were welcomed for a morning of networking, project updates and practical learning.
The event featured member spotlights from Four Square and Lower Impact Living CIC, alongside updates from Circular Communities Scotland and an engaging workshop led by Sue Briggs from General Store Selkirk exploring how organisations can make the most of their waste resources.
The day concluded with a tour of Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, giving members the opportunity to see reuse in action and continue conversations in an informal setting.
Glasgow Members Forum
In June, members gathered in Glasgow for another successful forum, this time hosted with well-known and loved Glasgow sharing library Music Broth, which was also focused on strengthening organisations and sharing knowledge.
A highlight of the day was an interactive workshop delivered by David Bryan from Social Enterprise Academy, which explored how organisations can better communicate their vision to staff, volunteers, funders and wider stakeholders. Members reflected on how stronger storytelling can help build support, attract investment and strengthen organisational resilience.
Following the forum, some attendees enjoyed further networking over lunch, with Share and Repair Network members remaining for a dedicated afternoon workshop.
Bike Reuse Forum in Dundee
Working in partnership with Cycling Scotland, we also hosted our latest Bike Reuse Forum at Dundee Cycle Hub.
The event brought together bike reuse projects from across Scotland to share updates, hear from leading sector organisations including Cycling Scotland and Cycling UK, and discuss one of the sector’s most pressing issues: the challenges and opportunities surrounding funding and collaboration.
The guided tour of Dundee Cycle Hub offered members an opportunity to learn from another successful project while building new connections across Scotland’s growing bike reuse community.
Building Capacity Together
While each forum had its own focus, they all shared a common purpose, helping members build capacity through collaboration.
From practical workshops and peer learning to informal conversations over coffee, every forum created opportunities for members to learn from one another, develop new partnerships and discover fresh approaches to the challenges facing the sector.
The expertise within Circular Communities Scotland’s membership is one of our greatest assets. By creating spaces where that knowledge can be shared openly, we continue to strengthen not only individual organisations but Scotland’s wider circular economy movement.
Thank you to every member, speaker and host organisation who helped make this year’s forums such a success. We look forward to welcoming even more members to future events as we continue working together to build stronger, more sustainable communities across Scotland.
