Circular Communities Scotland is pleased to share the 2025-2026 Annual Impact Report for our Reuse Consortium. This has been our biggest year so far: the Consortium surpassed one million pounds in trading for the first time.

The local authorities and housing associations that purchase from the Consortium are using their spending power to make a real difference across Scotland. While doing the vital work of providing furnishings to 3,414 low-income households, they are also generating an outsize social impact by purchasing from social enterprises. Consortium trading supports 23 jobs across as well as funding training programmes and other community services.

The environmental benefit of purchasing reuse is also significant with approximately 318,739 kg of material has been kept in use and prevented from becoming “waste” and an estimated 844.64 tonnes of CO2 emissions have been avoided compared to purchasing new goods.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank our Consortium members, buyers, and Scotland Excel for making this programme possible,” said Reuse Consortium Officer Alysha Cross. “Behind the impact report is a whole year of people going above and beyond for their communities.”

In 2026, the Consortium will mark 10 years of trading. Discover more about our award-winning Reuse Consortium here. Interested in buying or selling through our Consortium? Reach out to our Reuse Consortium Officer Alysha alysha@circularcommunities.scot
