Circular Communities Scotland is pleased to release our 2025-2028 Strategic Plan Summary.

The summary provides an overview of our full 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which was created in consultation with our membership, staff, board, funders, policy makers and wider stakeholders.

“We’re very proud of this new strategy, which at its heart, is with and for our membership. Our job is to dream big for our members future, whilst thoughtfully considering the realities, both positive and negative, in our sector.

The world is changing rapidly, with policy, funding, and consumerism all impacting our sector, and the charities doing their part to make their communities and the planet better places to live. It is our job to ensure not only that they continue to do that work, but that they have space and resources to thrive and lead.

I feel positive our new Strategic Plan has the capacity to support them to do so.”

– Michael Cook, CEO, Circular Communities Scotland.

The strategy supports a bold ten-year goal for a thriving organisation supporting a thriving sector.

We have identified three key pillars to drive us towards this goal from 2025-2028:

  • Building Capacity through our Member Services.
  • Creating Opportunities through our Policy Work.
  • Strengthening our Organisation.

Building Capacity through our Member Services

As we serve and support our members our primary focus will be on capacity building. Looking forward, we will focus on growing our members, over growing our membership.

Creating Opportunities through Policy Work

The focus of our policy representation is to create the right conditions for our members to deliver a more circular economy. We want to see the right policies implemented, in the right way to deliver a growing circular economy. We want to move from representation to influence and grow policy partnerships with our members and wider stakeholders.

Strengthen our Organisation

Over the last few years, we have made strong progress in strengthening the core organisation. However, we want to continue to strengthen our organisation through partnership working, outcomes focus, income generation and team development and support.

The entire Circular Communities Scotland team is looking forward to bringing our new Strategic Plan to life, to create a more thriving circular economy in Scotland.
