Circular Communities Scotland is pleased to announce that the Reuse Consortium has been accepted onto the Scotland Excel Domestic Furniture and Furnishings Framework for a four year period starting on the 23rd June 2025. The Reuse Consortium now consists of eight members supplying reuse furniture to seven local authorities and one housing association for their social housing tenancies.

This new Scotland Excel contract means that the Consortium can continue its important work of diverting large quantities of furniture from landfill and providing thousands of low-income households with high quality reuse items, as well as maintaining many local jobs and funding vital charitable work in local communities. In 2024 – 2025, the Consortium traded over £911,000, diverting more than 284,000 kilograms of furniture from going to waste and supporting over 3,300 vulnerable families.

Over the next four years, we plan to grow Consortium business, bringing new reuse furniture suppliers into the Consortium and establishing trading with new local authorities, as well as connecting with more housing associations across Scotland. Our Consortium Manager Nicola recently attended the Meet the Buyer National event in Edinburgh and made some promising connections with a range of local authorities. We also plan to work on assisting our Consortium members who deal in white goods to secure a cheaper and more reliable supply of reuse white goods.
